Craft: An occupation requiring special skill.
Skill: The ability to do something well arising from talent, training, or PRACTICE.
Acting can be said to be a combination of all of the above, but the most important is: PRACTICE.
Acting is like a sport that you’re determined to excel at. The only way that happens is with hard work, day after day after day. Practicing. Which means doing the same things over and over again, until your skills have been so reinforced, that your natural talent arises effortlessly, thoughtlessly, allowing the natural, free and fearless expression of your talent and ability.
To Act well, one must be thoughtless in the execution, totally lacking in self-consciousness, existing only in the present moment, so that Acting is nothing more than Being…Being Present.
THE MONTHLY ON-CAMERA TUNE-UP is designed with one purpose in mind:
To reinforce the way in which the Actor achieves the state of Presence in their work, through Practice.
Scene Work & Exercises, Scene Work & Exercises, Scene Work & Exercises…
This is the PRACTICE that keeps you in Tune.
